Description

Lythrum salicaria 'Zigeunerblut' is a vigorous, sturdy selection of purple loosestrife. It is characterised by long flower spikes in purple-pink to strong red-violet. The previous description as predominantly purple to carmine-red was too red and dark.

The cultivar received the highest rating in the German perennial trials and is considered exceptionally healthy, vigorous and floriferous. It prefers sunny to partially shaded positions in fresh to moist soils.
